My uncle is quite a difficult man to shop for. He’s never really said what he likes or doesn’t like, so I always feel like I’m guessing when it comes to picking out a gift for him. Perfume seemed like the perfect option this year. After doing some window shopping, I settled on the scent of Generous by J. Fragrances.

A Fresh Aromatic Scent

I remember the first time I ever smelled oak moss. It was a deep, earthy scent that felt like  taking a walk in nature, seeing and smelling the trees, pine, cut wood, that balances and centers us.  Oakmoss can evoke memories of cozy evenings by the fire. For me, it brings back childhood memories of my uncle and I spending time together, walking at a nearby park. Whenever I smell oakmoss, it takes me back to those happy moments we shared.

But oakmoss isn’t the only reason I picked this perfume. When I sprayed it on, the first spritz felt like a burst of sunlight on a warm day. Bergamot and lemon zest danced around, fresh and sparkling.

As it dried down, a creamy tamarind note came out to play, giving the fragrance an exotic edge. The woody base was dry and amber-like, with a touch of musk for depth. The scent is overall dominated by oakmoss which gives the scent an earthy foundation.

Ending Note
