OPPO A16e Review

Oppo A16e phone does not offer much except for a long battery. It does not have the latest Android OS, and the camera picture quality is poor. The phone also lags when too many apps are running at once.

Want your phone to last all day long? Oppo A16e is the answer.

I tested the performance, battery, display, networking, operating system, and camera.

The battery didn’t disappoint! You can have a long usage time without your phone dying. However, the camera has poor picture quality, and the phone lags with even a moderate load.

Design: Good, Not Great

Recently got my hands on the OPPO A16e. It is a very lightweight phone. This makes it easier to carry.

The build quality is solid too. It gives a premium look and feel, while the plastic frame keeps it light. It still feels firm in the hand.

The design is pretty standard for a budget phone. It’s not particularly beautiful or eye-catching, but it gets the job done.

The display is good for basic use but not as sharp as some higher-end phones on the market. The IPS LCD is of average quality. This makes text and images look quite pixelated, but it’s still usable.
The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection is a nice touch though.

Performance: Room For Improvement

There are a few things that I thought could be improved.

The chipset is quite average, nothing too special. The same goes for the GPU. PowerVR GE8320 is very mediocre.

However, I do appreciate the micro-SDXC card slot. It’s a nice feature to have.

I would have liked to see a bit more RAM. Overall, the performance is fine but nothing outstanding.

Battery Life: Sufficient Enough

A decent battery life.

It’s a Li-Po 4230 mAh battery. But there is no fast-charging support available.

Even without fast charging support, the battery life is still pretty good. I was able to use it for a full day without having to recharge it and some power was left over at the end of the day.

Network: On Par With The Competition

First of all, the compatibility is good.

It uses the same technology as most other phones. So, it’s easy to connect to things like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The speed is also good, although not as fast as some of the newer phones on the market.

The phone features a 4G support system. For Pakistan, that is the best that you can get. The GPS is also a great feature, although it can be a little inaccurate sometimes.

Software: Deliver What Was Promised

The phone comes with Android 11 and it is running on ColorOS 11.1. The UI is very smooth and user-friendly. I love the fact that I can customize the phone to my liking.

There are plenty of options available in the Settings menu and I can easily change the look and feel of the phone according to my preference.

The only negative aspect is that the Android 12 operating system is not available in the phone.

If you are someone who is not concerned with the OS, you will be quite satisfied.

Camera: Barely Passable

For me, the camera is the biggest let-down of the Oppo A16e.

Overall, the camera is not up to the standards of an Oppo Mobile phone. There is only one rear and one front camera. The MP is too low. The aperture is not satisfactory.

The features are very average compared to other options available.

If you are looking for a phone with good camera quality, the OPPO A16e is not the best option.

FAST FACTS

BEST FOR:
Long Usage

Li-Po 4230 mAh

About the Brand:
Oppo is a leading tech company, manufacturing smartphones and accessories. It is considered one of the most premium brands.

Final Verdict

Plain and simple, Oppo A16e does not offer value for money. While Android 11 is good, it is not the latest OS version.

The camera is extremely mediocre with very bad picture quality. The features are also not market-competitive. Lastly, the performance is below average. The phone cannot handle a massive load without lagging.

Overall, I was not satisfied with the Oppo A16e. However, if the specs fancy you, definitely try it out!
